CORE BREAST BIOPSY
POST OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Keep a pressure dressing on the biopsy site this evening.
2. You may shower the next day.
3. Tylenol or Advil should take care of pain. Call the office if these are ineffective.
4. Avoid rigorous activities such as swimming or jogging for 2-3 days.
5. You may use an ice pack tonight, if desired.
6. The final pathology report should be available within 48 hours if sent to Rex. It may take a few days if sent to another reference lab. We will call you with the results.
7. Please call our office at (919) 782-8200 if you experience any fever or bleeding or with any questions or concerns.
